We’re excited to share that this year’s Burbank Sanitary District Annual Clean-Up Day was another outstanding success!
Held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, the event attracted a record-breaking 692 visits across our various stations, including dumpsters, E-waste drop-off, compost pickup, and the Repair Café. Together, our community helped divert and properly manage 44.04 tons of waste, demonstrating an incredible commitment to environmental stewardship.
One of the highlights of the day was the Repair Café, which saw enthusiastic participation from residents throughout the event. Community members embraced the opportunity to repair, restore, and reuse household items.
The District would also like to thank everyone who participated in the BSD Annual Clean-Up Day Survey. We value your feedback and will review the results as we plan future events. Many of the suggestions provided will be considered as we work to make next year’s Clean-Up Day even better.
A special thank you to our amazing partners:
- Greenwaste for helping everything run smoothly and efficiently
- Repair Cafe for giving new life to residents’ items and keeping reusable goods out of the landfill
- 97 Boston Avenue for allowing us to use their parking lot for Repair Cafe
- Luther Burbank School for allowing us to use their parking lot for E-waste drop-off, and compost pickup
Most importantly, thank you to our residents for your participation and support. Your enthusiasm and involvement made this event a tremendous success, and we look forward to seeing you again next year for an even bigger and better Annual Clean-Up Day!
