The District is pleased to announce the successful completion of Phase 1a of the 2025 Lower Lateral CIP Project, which focused on the installation of sewer cleanouts.
This phase addressed nine sewer laterals where sewer blockages were identified during mainline CCTV inspections.
Installing property line cleanouts provides a direct access point for cleaning lower laterals, and helping prevent sewer backups and spills while supporting long-term system maintenance.
The project is being completed in three phases:
- Phase 1a – Installation & Cleaning: Installation of cleanouts and cleaning of lower laterals
- Phase 1b – Inspection: Inspection of laterals for structural defects using the new access points
- Phase 1c – Repairs: Repair of laterals found to have significant structural issues
Phase 1 was completed on schedule and within scope, meeting all design, regulatory, and performance requirements. Close coordination among District staff, inspectors, and contractors ensured efficient progress and proactive resolution of challenges.
Project highlights include:
- High-quality construction meeting or exceeding design standards
- Strong safety performance
- Effective collaboration among project partners
The District appreciates the community’s support throughout construction and looks forward to continuing with the next phases of this project.
